Using talent for more
There are thousands of experts in your field. What are you doing different? What are you willing to do? Why do you want to do it? These are imporant questions experts should ask themselves. However, there’s one response that is not enough and that would be “for money”.
Why Eco Air does it
Creating HVAC social media content is something we enjoy because it is a tool to build our relationship with people. It’s a tool to educate, save people time and money, and of course entertain not only others but also our own selves. It actually brings our team together.

Here are some frequently asked questions about our social media and advertising content.
Performing Scenes With Staff
Is it difficult to work with the business staff?
The process of starting to create content and social media channels with the staff can be difficult at first because people are essentially doing something extra in their day that is typically outside of their scope of practice. However, it is achievable by having great communication with HVAC employees that actually addresses real questions such as: “why?”, “do we have to do it?”, “will we get paid extra?”, “can I opt out and not be a part of this?” and more.
We have to understand that many people are shy and may not want to be in videos that can become viral or last for decades. We also have to understand that some people simply want to do their job and go home because they do not want to risk their positions. So it is important that leaders take this into consideration and actually think about the positives and negatives and even talk about these with the staff.
Once a team has been actively working on HVAC social media content for a few months, it becomes easier to manage and it can even become something enjoyable for everyone taking part. For Eco Air, creating content for HVAC social media has actually created a positive addition to our work culture.
How does doing social media affect the team?
Creating content for social media does take time from an HVAC team because there is truly a lot more content to make than you might think. You will often enconuter situations where you want to record something and therefore it may require the HVAC technicians to stop what their doing, redo what they’re doing, or other things like preparing the area for recording. So the biggest thing media content affects is time. As time goes, you’ll learn to create extra time for special projects and your team will become used to it. In fact, your team may even suggest scenes and those are often really great team building growth opportunities.
What mistakes should new HVAC influencers avoid?
Common mistakes to avoid are:
- Spending a lot of money on recording gear rather than spending time on concepts.
- Having a content creator but not having a media director or CMO who has vision, strategy and is ultimately driven by conversion rates.
- Creating content that focuses on selling rather than connecting with your audience. There is a fine difference here and this subject can expand tirelessly.
- Spending time on branding guidelines so that your business is recognized accross all channels and your business becomes identifable whether through your social media content or a sticker on the side of a work vehicle.
Media Direction
Who is your HVAC social media content director?
John Fernandez from PixelComb is our content director as part of his scope as our contracted CMO and CTO. He works directly with our content creator, video recorder and business owner as a team. He combines social media, SEO, SEM, PPC and technology.
What does the content creator do?
Our content creator is ultimately in charge of creating or re-creating content that adheres to our vision and strategies. Content creators often have a lot of daily work to do such as writing concepts, scripts, editing video and audio, posting and more.
Has HVAC social media made a difference so far?
Absolutely—People are remembering us for who we are as people and not just as a business. This is an important part of our conversion strategy and also something that has made us feel more connected with homeowners and businesses on a core level. HVAC social media has even changed the way we work.
